Saturday was the last day of a very long week. After running a couple of appointments we stopped by an Antique Store that we frequent. This ‘week from Hell’ ended when we discovered that someone we’ve known for years that worked at the Store had died. This news hit us both, as it is often said, like a ton of bricks.
So, instead of tackling the piles of work sitting on my desk on Sunday I threw a couple of lenses in my camera bag and put it in the ol’ mini-van with another ‘small camera’ bag and we went for a drive to the ‘Springs.
After getting there I stopped in a Starbucks (I still had money left on a gift card that was sent to me) and got a quad white chocolate mocha – iced. Then I opened the camera bag to get things ready so I could go looking for a few snaps. The two lenses were in the bag but no camera. So, I went to Plan B. Always have a Plan B and a Plan C. I took a digital compact camera and a point & shoot film camera out and put them up front with me.
Can’t show you the film snaps yet but these are a few of the digital snaps I took that day starting with Carhenge. A great little photogenic place on Academy Blvd.

Next were a couple of quick pics at one of my many ‘secret gardens’ located along the Front Range. Here in Colorado we refer to the area east of the mountains in the ‘flat lands’ as the Front Range.

The entrance to this place was a massive stone arch. I thought it was a private location but it said ‘Public Welcome’. I’m already planning on a visit so I can go inside. I’m anxious to get up to the fourth floor.

This looked like fun but I couldn’t figure out how to get our mini-van out on the track so I could race.

Your cliche’ run of the mill Monument type structure.

The park was very active despite the ominous clouds over the Mountains.

Before heading back to Denver we stopped at one of our favorite Antique Haunts. My wife spotted a wonderful old pine pie safe with old blue paint and the original wire screens still intact.
Dinner when we got back to town and then called it a day. Back to those piles of work sitting on my desk but for several hours the crap of day to day work disappeared and all was good in the world.

I think every Spring Photo assembly has to have a picture of a box of crayons and who am I to break from tradition.

Not an exceptional group of photos but they all hold pleasant memories for me.
As always any and all comments are greatly appreciated.
Peace. Dan
